With 66 % of its territory covered with forests and one third under national park protected status, Slovenia is a green destination offering mostly outdoor activity holidays.
Slovene Tourist Board has defined green tourism as its main priority. Several European and international certificates have been introduced to incourage the Slovene providers to develop responsible tourism offers: EDEN, European Eco-label Flower, Green Globe, Blue flag, Ecological Tourist Farms.
Recently established institute GoodPlace is offering all the support and necessary resources to the sustainable tourism project holders.
