Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) is located 26 km from the city center. You'll find direct flights from Paris with Air France and easyJet.

Nearby airports: Trieste (Italy, 1.5h), Zagreb (Croatia, 2h), Venice (Italy, 2.5h). Airport Shuttle services are available to reach the city center.

By Car

From Paris: approximately 1100 km via Switzerland or Austria (10-11 hours driving). A highway vignette is mandatory (€15/week, €30/month). Roads are well-maintained via Motorways A1/A2.

From Lyon: 8h. From Munich: 4h. The route is ideal for exploring Central Europe along the way.

By Train

Via Munich-Salzburg-Ljubljana (6h from Munich). The ÖBB Nightjet connects Vienna and Munich to Ljubljana for a comfortable journey.

No direct high-speed train from France, a connection via Zurich or Munich is necessary. Interrail is valid for all journeys. A great option for slow travel enthusiasts.

By Bus

FlixBus connects Ljubljana to many European cities. From Paris: approximately 15h with a stopover. Bus is the most economical option.

The bus station is located next to Ljubljana's central train station, ideal for continuing your discovery of the country.

Currency

The Euro (€) is the official currency since 2007. Credit cards are accepted everywhere in the country.

Language

The official language is Slovenian. English is widely spoken. A few basic Slovenian words will always be appreciated.

Time Zone
